First-tier notebook makers Quanta Computer, Compal Electronics, Wistron and Inventec all saw on-month revenues decline in May 2009.

The four ODM makers attributed the below-expectations operational performance to short supplies of LCD panels and optical drive pick-up heads (PUHs).

Quanta’s shipments of 2.3 million notebooks in May and Inventec’s shipments of 1.6 million units remained unchanged from April, while Compal’s volume of 2.5 million units and Wistron’s of 1.8 million units dropped by 7.4% and 5.3%, respectively, according to the companies.
